First Grade Endangered Animals Project

"We decided to study endangered animals because we thought it would be interesting. We were worried about animals that may become extinct. We got lots of information from the internet, books, and from Becky at the Columbus Zoo. We went to our high school and had a video conference with her while she was all the way in Columbus. She helped us with some of our facts about our endangered animals. It was fun to talk with her. We got to see gorillas and manatees. We will meet with her again on May 25 to share our research projects".
"We met every Tuesday morning for about one hour to do our research. We made a list of things we wanted to find out about our animals. We took notes on note cards and kept them in a special folder. We drew lots of pictures and decided which ones would be the best. We then decided to make a web page to show everyone our research!"
