This is a sugar maple leaf. It is a simple, lobed, smooth leaf. The sugar maple can grow to be 100 feet tall. We get sap from this tree to make maple syrup. You need 30 to 40 gallons of sap to make just one gallon of syrup! One tree can give anywhere from 5 to 60 gallons of sap! Its wood is used for flooring.
