I happen, temporarily, to occupy the White House. I am a living witness that any one of your children may look to come here as my father's child has.

Fort Sumter?

Abraham Lincoln was the first U.S. President to be assas- sinated. His son, Robert, who was in Washington when his father was killed, was on the scene when President James Garfield was shot in 1881 and also when President William McKinley was assassinated in 1901.  "Old Abe's" law partner William Herndon referred to Lincoln's ambition as a "little engine that knew no rest."  He may have been our tallest President (although I have read that George Washington was 1/2" taller). Who was our shortest President?
