Robert Richard Jordan

October 13, 1912 - July 30, 2005

 

MANSFIELD -- Robert Richard Jordan, 92, died Saturday, July 30, 2005, at Oak Grove Manor after a long illness.

Born October 13, 1912, in Loudonville, he was the son of Calvin and Rosetta (Wise) Jordan. He retired in 1977 from Tappan Co. after 33 years of service and attended Trimble Road Baptist Church. Mr. Jordan was a member of the Tappan Quarter Century Club, American Legion. He was a musician in the local area for well over 50 years entertaining people with his piano playing. He was a veteran of World War II serving with the U.S. Army.

He is survived by four sons and daughters-in-law, Thomas and Melody Jordan of Mableton, Ga., Terry and Linda Jordan of Solon, Rick and Vicki Jordan of Walton, Ky., and Dave and Kim Jordan of Mansfield; ten grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Helen L. (Casey) Jordan, whom he married November 22, 1939; three sisters, Rosetta Bellamy, Florence Beechy, and Hazel Lee; five brothers, Arthur, Harold, Raymond, Forrest and Carl Jordan; and his parents.

Funeral services will be at 2 p.m., Tuesday, August 2, 2005, at the Diamond Street Home of Wappner Funeral Directors, conducted by Pastor John N. Middleton. Friends may call at the funeral home from 12-2 p.m.

Military graveside services conducted by Richland County Joint Veteran's Council will follow in Loudonville Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the Tourette Syndrome Association of Ohio.
