- Government has an important
role in helping develop a country's
economic foundation.
But the critical test is whether government isgenuinely working
to liberate individuals by creating incentives to work,
save, invest, and succeed.

- How do you tell a Communist?
Well, it's someone who reads Marx and
Lenin. And how do
you tell an anti-Communist? It's someone who understands
Marx and Lenin.

- This fellow they've
nominated claims he's the new Thomas Jefferson. Well
let me tell you something; I knew Thomas Jefferson. He was a friend
of mine and Governor (Clinton)... You're no Thomas Jefferson!

- He was called the "Teflon
President" and the "Great Communicator" (or maybe
the "Great Reader" from a well-orchestrated script).
Reagan loved jelly beans (he found it helpful to "pop"
then into his mouth after meals once he gave up smoking), and
he was 77 years old when he left office, making him the oldest
president. Do you remember the crowd yelling Ronald "Ray
Gun" at Woodstock in 1969 (he was then Governor of California)?
I still remember him in the classic movie "Bedtime for Bonzo",
all of the cowboy movies, and "win one for the 'Gipper'".
Clarence Darrow once said, "When I was a boy I was told
that anybody could become President; now, I'm beginning to believe
it. "
